Francois Pont was born in the Valais, Switzerland. He studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art in London and at Camberwell Art School where he specialised in printmaking. He has kept contacts with Swiss printmakers, especially with the master printer Raymond Meyer in Lausanne, where large scale prints are produced and artist books published.

He joined the Studios in 2001 installing a large Rochat printing press to create his own prints as well as work in collaboration with artists, helping them to make plate and print editions. The emphasis is on intaglio techniques combined with hand-painted chine colle.  He has taken part in many print exhibitions. In 2000 his prints where exhibited in 'Cabinet des Estampes', Musée Jenisch, Vevey, Switzerland.'
